I am thrilled to be serving the students of Voluntown for the third year as Principal and Assistant Superintendent of Voluntown Elementary School. I was raised in Plainfield, CT and graduated from Plainfield High School. I appreciate my parents and teachers giving me a rich childhood and instilling in me a lifelong love of learning. I want to help provide the same passion for learning in every child here at VES.
After graduating from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, I began working in Boston, MA as a Medical Software Trainer. My mother always said that I should be an Educator, and it did not take very long to realize that my mother was right! I packed up and moved to Colorado looking for an adventure. I graduated from the University of Denver with a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, with a concentration in Technology. Upon graduating I taught 5th grade at Lewis-Palmer Elementary School and 6th grade Mathematics at Lewis-Palmer Middle School in Monument, CO. I enjoyed my adventure, but it was time for me to return home to Connecticut.
Upon returning to Connecticut, I was the 4th-8th grade Numeracy Interventionist at Old Saybrook Middle School in Old Saybrook, CT. I returned to school at Sacred Heart University, graduating with a Sixth Year Degree in Educational Administration. During that time I was a 5th grade Mathematics teacher and 5th-8th grade Numeracy and Literacy Interventionist at Dr. Helen Baldwin Middle School in Canterbury, CT.
I am thrilled to continue my Administrative career here at Voluntown Elementary School. I am thankful to the parents, students, and staff who have welcomed me to VES!
When I have a few spare seconds, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends and my Great Dane (Sinatra), traveling, reading, going to plays, and running!
I am passionate about our commitment to the well being of your child (academically, socially, emotionally, and behaviorally). I believe that if we all work together that this year will be successful. Please feel free to contact me or my staff if you have questions, concerns, or ideas! I encourage parents and teachers to have constant communication, share ideas and help each other, and help those that count......the children!
