My education began with a BS in Economics from the University of Connecticut, followed by a Paralegal Certificate from the University of San Diego.   During my time working as a paralegal, I worked part time on a Masters Degree in Elementary Education with Certification at Rhode Island College. In 2012 I began a program to obtain Cross Endorsement in Special Education with the Capitol Region Education Council in Hartford, Connecticut and obtained my Connecticut and Rhode Island Special Education Certificates in 2013.

I worked as a paralegal for over ten years while working part-time on my Masters Degree in Elementary Education with Certification.  Upon completion of my Masters Degree and Teaching Certificaton program, I became a "stay at home" mother" for many years.

I returned to work as a substitute teacher in 2008 and worked primarily in Stonington, CT at Pawcatuck Middle School.

Upon completion of my Special Education Cross Endorsement Program in 2013, I began working for DTZ school in Norwich, CT.  This school was an alternative school for high school students and was managed by Natchaug Hospital in Mansfield, CT.  This school was closed in 2014.

I was hired by the Voluntown Board of Education in August of 2014 as a Special Education Teacher and have worked in Grades 4-8 teaching Reading and Math.  I have received training in the Wilson Reading Program and have taught many classes in Phonics to students in these grades.

I have always enjoyed children and have six children of my own (5 girls and 1 boy).  My time home with my children was a most rewarding and enjoyable time.  As my children grew older and more independent, I returned to work as a substitute teacher and later obtained a permanant teaching job
